Man under the bed. ( Shita Otoko )

It is a Japanese urban legend but there are similar type of stories around the world.
It is considered that it originated in US.
In Japan, this kind of stories are called "Shita Otoko", it means "Under man".
Usually the shady man in this stories hides under the bed.
Now, "Shita Otoko" is still dreaded in Japan.
I will translate the most typical one.


There were young sisters lived together.
One day, the sisters went on a trip.
The hotel room which they had stayed has only one bed,
so the older sister decided to sleep on the floor with futon.

The older sister set her futon near the bed, they were going to sleep.

Suddenly, she said to her sister.
"I want to drink a juice. let's go together to buy it now."
The younger sister was sleepy. "What?... I don't wanna go."
But the older sister was trying to take out her importunately.
"Come on! Let's go."
At last, the younger sister got up and followed her sister with bad grace.

Though, the older sister ran in the other direction of a store.
"Hey, where are you going? The store is not there!"
She turn around and said with a fierce look.
"I am going to police. A man who has an axe was under your bed."
